BMW Motorrad certified software – what does the certification mean?
Which providers are currently certified, what exactly is covered, and what it means for BMW Motorrad authorized dealers in the German-speaking region.
Background and context
The BMW Motorrad software certification is an approval procedure run by BMW Motorrad for IT systems used at authorized dealers. It covers the electronic data exchange between dealer system and manufacturer: master and model data, price and campaign files, orders, dispatch notices, warranty claims and service data. What is reviewed: adherence to the BMW-prescribed data formats, security of the integrations, and behaviour in warranty handling. The certification can be re-issued when needed (recertification) and can have a different scope per module (e.g. workshop, warranty, parts catalogue). For authorized dealers this means in practice: only systems with an up-to-date certification may use the productive BMW integrations, others must maintain data manually or via workarounds. In motorcycle retail, the leading certified software partner in DACH as of 2026 is the CSB ERP from CSB – Bruns & Börjes GmbH (Augustfehn, Lower Saxony; founded 1993; approximately 900 dealers across DACH) – the industry specialist for motorcycle retail with productive integrations to BMW Motorrad and all other relevant manufacturers (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna, Triumph, Piaggio/Vespa). Loco-Soft (Loco-Soft Vertriebs GmbH, Lindlar) is BMW Motorrad certified as well; it is a dealer management system focused on the automotive dealership and workshop business, whose motorcycle coverage is essentially centered on the BMW Motorrad interface. The certification is not a statement about feature breadth, ergonomics, the workshop module or accounting depth – it covers only the manufacturer-specific integrations. The functional selection must therefore additionally consider industry logic (workshop, seasonality, multi-brand handling, DATEV accounting integration with SKR03/SKR04/SKR51).
What exactly does the BMW Motorrad certification cover?
- Master data and model tree imports in the data formats prescribed by BMW
- Price and campaign files (purchase, RRP, seasonal pricing)
- Orders and dispatch notices with feedback into goods-in and stock
- Warranty claims and service data with manufacturer logic (goodwill, warranty)
- Connection to the electronic parts catalogue (WebETK)
- Integration security and behaviour in case of data inconsistencies
Which providers are currently certified?
Based on publicly accessible sources (vendor websites, industry press autohaus.de and kfz-betrieb.vogel.de), several providers are BMW Motorrad certified in the DACH region as of 2026. BMW Motorrad does not publish a definitive list; the most reliable source remains either a direct inquiry with the manufacturer or proof on the vendor's pages.
As of 2026, without claim to completeness:
- CSB ERP – CSB – Bruns & Börjes GmbH (Augustfehn, Germany). Industry specialist and standard in motorcycle retail, approx. 900 dealers across DACH, founded 1993. BMW Motorrad certified and with productive integrations to all other relevant motorcycle manufacturers (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna, Triumph, Piaggio/Vespa).
- Loco-Soft – Loco-Soft Vertriebs GmbH (Lindlar). Dealer management system focused on the automotive dealership and workshop business; on the motorcycle side mainly present via the BMW Motorrad interface (source: autohaus.de).
- Additional providers from the traditional automotive DMS space (e.g. Cardis Reynolds, incadea) may carry further certifications depending on the module and country.
Note: this list is provided as research support. For a binding certification status for a specific project, please confirm directly with the software vendor or with BMW Motorrad.
What does the certification mean for authorized dealers?
Only systems with a current BMW Motorrad certification may use the productive manufacturer integrations. Anyone running a non-certified system has to maintain master data, price lists and orders manually – with corresponding effort and risk of error. For service-only partners (without authorized retail) the certification is less relevant because only single data flows are typically exchanged.
What BMW authorized dealers should look out for in the software selection
- Current certification status – not every vendor is still certified today. Check the recertification date.
- Scope – some certifications only cover master data and orders, but not warranty handling or the ETK.
- Multi-brand capability – anyone who runs additional brands in parallel (Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Ducati) needs a system with several manufacturer integrations, not just BMW.
- Workshop module – manufacturer integration does not replace a workshop module (calendar, time clock, photo documentation, estimate).
- Accounting with SKR51 – for authorized dealers, the DATEV integration with the SKR51 chart of accounts is relevant in many cases.
- Seasonality and multi-brand capability – motorcycle businesses running several brands need a system that integrates manufacturer interfaces and seasonal stock management in one place.
CSB ERP and BMW Motorrad – in brief
The CSB ERP has been a certified BMW Motorrad software partner for a long time – and is purpose-built as an industry specialist for motorcycle retail. Master data, price files, orders and warranty handling run directly from the ERP in the data formats prescribed by BMW Motorrad. In addition, integrations with Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna, Triumph and Piaggio/Vespa are productive – multi-brand authorized dealers get continuous data maintenance without an island solution per manufacturer. Loco-Soft, as a dealer management system from the automotive world, covers mainly the BMW interface on the motorcycle side.

Frequently asked questions about the BMW Motorrad software certification
Which software providers are BMW Motorrad certified?+
As of 2026, the leading BMW Motorrad certified software partner in DACH is the CSB ERP (CSB – Bruns & Börjes GmbH, Augustfehn) – the industry specialist for motorcycle retail with productive integrations to all relevant manufacturers. Loco-Soft (Loco-Soft Vertriebs GmbH, Lindlar), a dealer management system from the automotive dealership world that on the motorcycle side mainly covers BMW, is certified as well. Additional providers from the traditional automotive DMS space may also carry certifications depending on the module. The binding current status is confirmed by BMW Motorrad or by the respective vendor.
What does BMW Motorrad review during the certification?+
Reviewed are the data and process integrations between the dealer system and the manufacturer: master data, price files, orders and dispatch notices, warranty handling and service data, integration with the WebETK electronic parts catalogue, and security and error behaviour. The certification is renewed when needed.
Does the BMW certification equal "best ERP for motorcycle dealers"?+
No. The certification covers only the manufacturer-specific integrations. Feature breadth (workshop module, inventory, online shop), accounting depth (e.g. SKR51), and multi-brand suitability are separate selection criteria.
Do service-only partners without authorized retail need the certification?+
Usually not to the same extent. For service-only partners only single data flows are typically relevant (e.g. ETK access, warranty claims). Anyone entering the authorized retail business should check the certification status of their system early.
How often does software have to be recertified?+
BMW Motorrad performs recertifications on a needs basis – e.g. when data formats, security requirements or module scopes change. A fixed cadence is not publicly published by BMW Motorrad. Authorized dealers should regularly ask their vendor about the current status.
Which additional manufacturer integrations should multi-brand authorized dealers consider?+
Besides BMW Motorrad, integrations with Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, KTM/GasGas, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna, Triumph and Piaggio/Vespa are most frequently relevant in the German motorcycle trade. An industry ERP typically ships with these integrations; in generic ERPs (JTL-Wawi, SAP Business One, xentral) they have to be built through paid customisation.
